Today May and I went to see Doi Chiang, wow what a place what views what a hidden gem, Shangri la. if there is one place to visit before you die this has to be on the list. Mountains, rivers valleys pine forests, WOW simply stunning just 20 kl south of Chiang Rai on the rd to Chiang Mai this piece of heaven nestles snugly hidden in the mountains.

It was a perfect start to the day with the sunrise captured on Time lapse photography, we ventured up the Temple hill just outside our Thai Village to capture the setting sun along the valley and over the mountains. Suitably refreshed with lashing of Leo beer we crept off to bed to sleep, them came the Thunder lightning and fierce winds. It was a bright sunny morning in Chiang Rai and everything looked fresh for the rain and then we walked into the garden for the evidence of natures work over night!

Today we make Mango Chutney so easy a child could do it.
6 mango's 3 apples, 1 Onion, 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup vinegar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 2 tsp curry powder, 1 lemon, and a tiny pinch of clove powder.

Friday on the farm and dam update, feeding the koi Carp, Hand feeding the cattle, May and Chock Dee on an ATV at the farm. Life in Chiang Rai Northern Thailand as an Expat building a business in retirement.

Chill out in the heaven of the north, Chiang Rai nestled in the foot hills of the Himalaya's, another splendid day in the Chiang Rai mountains.

Saturday on the Farm, Our Farm in in Chiang Rai Northern Thailand, our Thai Cattle farm along with out fish farm stocking Red Tilapia, Amazon Red Bellied Pacu common carp, Asian Carp and Koi Carp.
Hand feeding the cattle bananas, feeding the fish pellets. Our Thai farm is off grid and runs off solar power. Our Koi Carp are thriving in the mud pond. growing corn in Thailand to feed our cattle. Lots of tropical fruit in our Garden here in Thailand

Unseen Thailand. The parts tourists rarely get to see, the beautiful mountains of Chiang Rai the foot hills of the Himalayas. We take a trip from Chiang Kham heading into the hills climbing up the steep windy roads, shear cliff faces mountain streams and rivers. Dense jungle and cleared hills for farm lands. Far away from the tourist trails, sleepy mountain tribe villages cling to the hill sides whilst farmers set about their daily chores eeking out a living on the beautiful but unforgiving slopes.
